This is the time for coaching if:

  • You are ready to dig in and understand why. Why are you eating when you’re not hungry? Why are you so hard on yourself? Why are you waiting until the weight comes off to love your body? Why don’t you put yourself on your priority list? These are some of the critical questions we answer.
  • You understand that lasting weight loss is a process, not a quick fix. You know that the weight on your body is a reflection of what’s been going on inside. You are ready to address the core problems—your beliefs about food, your body, yourself, and the world around you.

Results you can expect

If you use the tools and do this work, this will be the last time you’ll need to lose weight. If you want to reinvent yourself, your thinking, your weight, and your relationship to food, you’re in the right place. When we are done working together, you will also find that you no longer obsess about food. You will follow your body’s cues that tell you when to eat for nourishment and then get on with your life!

Diets by nature set us up to ignore our bodies. They tell us to eat certain foods at certain times to achieve results. I will teach you how to listen to your body, fuel it according to its needs, and exercise to maintain it. Gone will be the fights with yourself – you never win anyway. Working with me you’ll learn that the number on the scale doesn’t determine your worth to the world. You’ll learn to appreciate your body instead of abusing it. You’ll learn to nurture yourself, value yourself, and forgive yourself.

My Philosophy

It is not about the food. I believe that it stems from our beliefs about ourselves, our abilities, and our value in the world. We need to change how we think and feel on the inside for our actions to change, which will then change our eating behaviors. It’s really hard to lose weight and keep it off without uncovering our beliefs about food, eating, exercise and ourselves.

Deprivation leads to overindulgence. How many times have you started a strict diet only to find yourself knee-deep in Ho-Ho’s after the first day? When we deprive ourselves of food to fuel our body or even food that just tastes great, we set ourselves up to overindulge. The latest brain research tells us that we are biologically wired to store more food when we starve ourselves (like when we’re dieting) than when the body is given regular nourishment.  In reality diets don’t lead to permanent weight loss, they prevent it.

What Makes Working With Me Different?

My job as your coach is to give you the tools and support to be successful in your goal to lose weight and be more at peace. I won’t judge you or your progress, and I won’t ask you to report your weight to me. I am primarily interested in finding the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck and help you get rid of those beliefs. Diet and exercise programs tell you how to eat and how to move. I will tell you how to think to reach your weight loss goals. With these new thoughts you will create new feelings, which will then create new behaviors and eventually a new you! We’ll start slow and build momentum as you begin to learn more about your thinking, your limiting beliefs, and your triggers to eating. Along the way, we’ll incorporate more joy into your life and get you back in touch with yourself, your dreams, and your passions.

The Details:

We will meet either in my office or over the phone. I suggest you make an initial 8 week commitment to our work together. I have found that 8 weeks is short enough to be achievable, but long enough to establish new habits that will be the foundation of a lifestyle that supports your goals.  Your results are limited only by your vision and follow through.  In order to accomplish what you desire you must be willing to invest your whole self into reaching your goals!
